Update - We have started work on the building blocks of this feature. Our new embeddable player, currently in testing, is being built with the ability to change the look and feel. We had a big debate over the issue of words vs icons. Some people prefer words, it's clearer for them, others prefer icons. There are very common icons that almost everyone knows, but others which people do not - send to friend, full screen, etc. In short, we will ultimately offer both options. We like to give people options. :-)
What are people's thoughts on the issue of how to convey to viewers (or whether to even convey) the 'type' of channel that it is. There's 'on-demand' (how it is now by default), 'random' (possible now) and 'scheduled' - like traditional TV. Could it not confuse the viewer if there are too many possibilities, without some form of notification?
This is an interesting subject and one we are giving great thought to at WorldTV HQ. On the one hand, a traditional style homepage for a channel would be rather You-Tube-esque, but might be useful to some users. Taking philip's comment, the opportunity to do something with the channel itself, offering channel navigation and playlist navigation in a cool way.. which would be better? Please comment.
