    Homepage for channels
    started

    Homepage for channels, where you can see archived clips, previews, trailers for future stuff coming up, aswell as other stuff... just an idea, but it would be really cool. You should be able to upload pictures for backgrounds and stuff.

    We are now working on something like this. It is in active development as of mid-July.

    online videoediting section

    I like the worldTV service but the only thing I really miss is an editor for my programs, so i can upload and edit them online on WorldTV and directly publish it to my WorldTV Account

    An online video editor is a major undertaking and could be 'everything we do'. User-wise it is inefficient in that you must upload raw footage (lots of mb's or gb's) to produce a smaller (but still big!) end file. Offline editors do a much better job we think and are already in existence with many years of development time in them. Should we not focus our efforts on bringing new innovations that add value to the whole thing? Do continue to vote on this idea if you want an online video editing tool. It may be that we will revisit this in future. :-)

    Selection of the Country you Want to Appear your Channel In

    I have several channels one in Spanish and others in English, since I live is Spain my English channels only appear as Spanish channels in the worldtv public directory.

    The English channels I have created are not designed for Spanish people, I think it would be a great idea if we can choose the countries in which we want our channels to appear.

    For now, please e-mail us at reception@worldtv.com if you want to request a country change. We can make the change manually while we work on a better system for this. Don't forget to tell us the channel name in question, and please use the e-mail address you registered under.

    Group video parts for random mode
    planned

    We have created a channel and would like to use our TV in random mode, so that people who visit us sees always different informations, but we are showing several documentaries that are divided in 2 or 3 parts and if we do it lots of important information would get lost. Getting a way to group the whole series would make that they move in the random chain as a unit... Thanks anyway for creating WorldTV ;-)

    Add an upload facility
    planned

    Can you add a video upload facility like YouTube?

    We plan to add this feature, and probably in two ways. We will likely offer a free version that lets you upload directly to a partner site (eg YouTube) through WorldTV, and a premium feature offering very high quality, professional grade WorldTV hosting with oodles of storage space at a very reasonable cost. In the meantime or as an alternative, you can upload videos to any of the video hosting sites we support (eg YouTube, Metacafe, Blip.tv) and then add those videos to your WorldTV channel using the 'add clip by url feature'. You can record video into the system using our webcam feature (which can access any video source attached to your computer), and you can use the Add by URL option to link directly to FLV video files that are hosted on your own servers, if you have this ability. Some users are doing HD quality video in this way.

    Monthly and Annual AWARDS

    Monthly and Annual awards should be given out on a national and international level, with awards being for highest quality of content, most views etc... This would increase the quality of channels competing, aswell as boost site publicity, as competers may advertise their channel in a larger portion of the web, to more people.

    This is planned now and we're working on exactly how we'll implement it. Feel free to add your own thoughts or ideas in comments.

    Possibility to embed channels in a website

    We are working on a new embeddable player as of mid-July. It is in active development..... In the meantime, you can actually already do this using an iframe method, which can work very well For example see http://tv.zonatrek.es and http://webtv.conce.tv. iFrame's are one of the simplest ways to embed content in a site. See http://worldtv.com/pages/faq for more details. An embeddable 'full screen player launcher' (widget) is in the works, but you can also achieve something similar by designing a badge or logo which links to your channel, or an iframed version of your channel. See http://www.hottunaint.com for an example.

    To advertise Worldtv in all our websites and blogs, I think it would be useful to have a code we can insert so that when you click on the worldtv logo you go to their website.

    I have put the worldtv logo in my blogs but I would to like to have a direct link also.

    Categorizing Videos

    Hi, have you guys thought about allowing us to categorize our videos so that viewers can choose the category on our channel that they'd like to watch. e.g. News, Sport, Travel etc.

    i.e. add a navigation bar on the page.

    Hope you can do it.

    Categorizing videos within a channel is one approach, and not one we had considered to be honest. The approach we are planning is that you can create multiple channels very easily using WorldTV, on different themes, and we will offer the viewer a way to navigate between your channels (that you have control over). This will offer very similar functionality to what you describe. With this system you could create your own mini 'network' of channels, yours and your friends etc. This is coming "soon".

    Los usuarios solo pueden ver el siguiente video, pero seria interesante que puedan seleccionar un video sin tener que navegar en todos, es decir que el programa despliegue un menu con la lista de los videos incluidos en el canal

    Thank you for your kind comments and we are thinking of the best way to help users do good things with online video. Storing videos on WorldTV is a possibility but it is expensive. Many good companies offer this service - e.g. YouTube, Blip.tv, Metacafe and we integrate with these sites. We will continue to look at this and ask users to continue to vote for the things they'd like to see.

    I would be great whit more hotkeys in the program. I would like:
    The "space"-button to have the functions "play/pause".
    The "Enter"-button to have the functions "full screen / small screen".
    The Left and Right arrows to have the functions previous and next video.

    Updated: Adobe have announced key support for full screen mode starting with Flash 10, the next version of Flash. We will integrate this in future.

    Hi Jonas. We spent a lot of time on this feature way way back in late 2006 when we first started developing the service. The problem was that Adobe do not allow key presses when a flash movie is in full screen mode, so it only works at regular size (within the browser), and even then you often have to click first somewhere on the channel to get 'focus' on the Flash part. Try it though, you'll find the arrow keys work. The space bar was working too until recently.

    A place in the page where the people that looks the TV could put suggestions

    And another where the owner of the page can explain the vidio and why it was chosen

    As a commenter correctly said, the speed is dependant on the source site, which is often YouTube or the other sites we partner with. Our forthcoming upload facility should change that, and you can always host the videos yourself (link directly to an FLV file) if you have that option. The other ideas you suggest should definitely be added as separate ideas, they are good ones, so people can vote on them individually.

    Cuando vamos a ver canal, antes de que comience la reproducción de los videos, tener la posibilidad de hacer una introducción como para presentar nuestro canal al mundo. Sería una muy buena opción y la espero.

    quando videos estiverem sendo rodados podemos colocar mensagens na tela sobre a programação, sobre o canal...
    ex; o video passando e nele insere a mensagem que fica passando em fora de letreiro; Deus ama você....tv tal...24 horas de programação...etc

    Voce ja pode fazer uma messagem sobre o video que esta passando; e so mudar o titulo do video. Outras formas de mensagems sobre a programacao do canal estao sendo estudadas nesse momento.

    I like the sound of what you are doing and would like to propose the
    benefits* of donating 100% of your companies Net profit to charity.

    *Increased goodwill with the financial benefits that lead to rapid

    This would create a USP that your competitors will not be able to
    compete against allowing you to grow rapidly taking market share as you
    gain consumer goodwill. This will allow hard work to be rewarded with

    The open source community will still be able to develop your software
    which will dramatically increase the speed of the softwares development.

    This business structure will enable your organisation to evolve and work
    within a more philanthropic structure while gaining goodwill from
    customers/workers/suppliers by clearly explaining their NET donation
    percentages.

    Q&A

    How will I make my millions if I implement this structure?
    Hard work and innovation by founders and employees will be rewarded with
    performance pay relating to the growth of the company so hard work is
    still rewarded. This could be expanded to reward members of the open
    source community too.

    How will the company survive hard times?
    The Net profit can be invested and then donated up to a couple of years
    after it has been generated in order secure the companies financial
    stability.

    How will the company pay for R&D?
    The net profit is profit after the company has spent on R&D so still
    allows progressive business development.

    What other effects will there be?
    Workers will be more careful about how they spend the money knowing that
    it is being taken away from the end good cause rather than from a
    shareholders dividend, which will make the organisation more efficient.
    Many benefits will be created from customers / suppliers / partners /
    stakeholders / workers that will silently boost the business.

    This would...

    1 create funds for charity
    2 make charity more 'efficient'
    3 boost your companies success rate with added goodwill
    4 enable people who created your project to get rewarded financially
    though performance pay while creating an organisation that is able to
    provide a platform for goodwill collaboration where everyone is rewarded
    for their hard/clever work knowing that all benefits go towards 'good
    causes':)

    integration with youtube

    Maybe it's an idea to write an api for youtube, so you can directly submit a video to your channel when you see a nice/funny vid and add your own vids uploaded to youtube.

    Check the metacafe video feeds access

    I just tried to add a few of my videos now playing on metacafe.com, but each one was unable to be added to my library. And one of them has this URL:

    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/466403/kyoto_japan_the_golden_pavilion_temple/

    which, of course, I can access in my web browser with no problems. So please have someone review the metacafe.com feeds/connections and try to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

    Add RSS capability

    It would be great to have an RSS feed for each channel. This way viewers could subscribe to be notified when a channel is updated.

    This feature is already running in beta mode, we just haven't publicized it on the site yet as we are still working on the ideal format for the feed.

    Feel free to try it out by adding /rss onto the end of any WorldTV channel url (eg http://worldtv.com/comedy/rss).>

    Gostaria de que não houvesse a possibilidade de o clipe ser interrompido pelo internauta, pois pretendemos fazer um programa de 1 hora, com caracteristica de televisão convencional, onde a pessoa que assiste não interrompe a atração.

    Isso nao e possivel pois o internauta tem que ter uma total liberdade na escolha das atracoes que ele segue.

    Tenho a expectativa de assistir o clips na Worldtv sem a imagem fracionada, pois o som é sequêncial, o que não coincide com a imagem.

    Isso e sem duvida devido a qualidade da conexao internete ou um problema do clipe mesmo... Tente achar o URL do clipe que tem problemas e recoloca-lo no editor do seu canal.
